Team Kids Disc Golf

Is made up of junior aged disc golfers who are demonstrating a great ability to throw the disc, compete, and are being an example of good character on and off the course. We are proud to support these disc golfers and ensure they recieve as much attention as possible. One of the ways we will be doing this is by sharing their tournament results on a regular basis. We will also be supporting their tournament efforts by selling team member bag tags where a significant portion of the sale goes to the player. We hope to raise the bar for junior competitive opportunities and know that these team members are a part of making that happen. We believe the future is now. We aren’t going to sit around and wait for youth to grow up! Be amazed as you read through each of our team members and consider giving them your support by displaying one of their bag tags on your bag.

When and how did you discover disc golf?

My older brother Cameron and my dad played all the time. I started throwing the discs around when I was small. My dad took me to play with him all the time and we had lots of baskets at home too. I also liked to watch videos on YouTube of tournaments and “in the bag” videos. I liked watching the pros play and the videos they would make.

What do you enjoy most about disc golf?

Disc Golf makes me HAPPY! I feel alive when I play! I feel alive when I make new friends who like disc golf too! Disc golf brings me to my happy place! And you should do what makes you happy!

What do you consider your biggest success in disc golf?

Earning first place in MA3 competing with 15 adults made me feel real good! I didn’t expect it at all which made it way cool! I liked how everyone there was so excited for me and thought it was cool too!! They were real happy for me and then they laughed that I have to play up next year which was funny!

I also made a great comeback at PDGA Junior worlds last year to earn my second junior world championship! It was so exciting having a 9 hole play off after bejng able to come from behind and tie for first! I couldn’t believe I was able to do that.

When I was born my dad always played disc golf. He gave me mini discs and a mini basket when I was one or two years old and I loved playing with them. He would take me out to the course with him before I could walk. One of my favorite parts was just looking for the baskets on courses I had never been too. I’ve been hooked my whole life so far.

What do you enjoy most aout disc golf?

I LOVE being with other disc golfers on the course. I don’t care who you are, if I’m on the course playing with my dad, I want you to join us! I also am very competitive so I really like being able to compete at tournaments.

What do you consider your biggest successes in disc golf?

I think the tournament ace I got at age 6 was pretty awesome! People from all over the world were sending me messages and gifts. I also enjoyed competing at the Junior World Championships in 2018. I placed third in my division, but took home some other cool titles like: World Putting Champion, Skills Challenge World Champion, Mini Disc Golf World Champion! I took third place at the United States Junior Disc Golf Championships and also competed in the putting championship and in sudden death secured the title of U.S. Junior Putting Champion!

When and how did you discover disc golf?

June of 2017, my now home course, Gaffney's Grove DGC just had opened 5 minutes from my house and it seemed pretty competitive yet alot of fun. My dad didn't play disc golf but his close friends did and one day one of them showed me a couple backhand techniques and I caught on really well. I started YouTubeing professional women disc golfers like Paige Bjerkaas and Paige Pierce, then would head to my school's play field and my home course and try to mimic them. A couple weeks later I had my dad enter me in my first Jr tournament and placed 3rd in my division. It was at that tournament I met a new bestfriend. I got obsessed with disc golf that summer and what was really great was I got my dad playing as well!

What do you enjoy most about disc golf?

I love the excitement I feel after makeing a deep putt or crushing a drive over a pond. But my most favorite thing is playing with my dad and uncles.

What do you consider your biggest successes in disc golf?

I have not achieved my goals yet. Still working towards them.

When and how did you discover disc golf?

In 2014, my Dad's friend Eric Johnson introduced our family to disc golf. My family would hang out with his family and we would go out and play. None of us were any good, but it was fun and we started to play any chance we could. Then my dad's other friend Scott Hill helped my dad and I with the more technical parts of the game. We started getting better and better. Scott suggested that my sisters and I play in the Chick Flick. At the time it was the largest women's only event in the nation. I placed 2nd among a field of girls that were more experienced and older than I was, and when I got my first trophy I was hooked!

What do you enjoy most about disc golf?

For me disc golf is family. I get to play a sport that I love with others. I am currently running a putting league waiting for the weather to get better, and every Tuesday it is like a family reunion. I also love the competitive nature of the sport. I get energized when I play and I make that putt from circle two or hit my line on a long drive. Disc golf is very rewarding, especially when you give back to the community.

What do you consider your biggest successes?

My biggest success is when I give back to the community. I have ran several clinics, I have TD'ed 6 tournaments, and am just over half way done running a 12 week putting league.

I recently competed in the Las Vegas Challenge and won the amateur women's distance competition (384') and won the intermediate women's division.

However, I still have not reached my goal of being able to throw 400' yet, my longest recorded drive so far is only 394'

My dad used to bring me to the course and push me around in a stroller while he played. When I turned 3 dad started taking me to play with him. Since then we have played 100's of disc golf rounds together.

What do you enjoy most about disc golf?

Playing with my friends is my favorite part of disc golf, but I also love being outdoors and enjoying the courses with my family.
